Hypes and Hypocrisy
Hype is not truth. A stupid forecast is not truth and blind patriotism is certainly not truth. What you hear in news is not necessarily truth.
In this first week of March, I was in International airport, Mumbai away from India for a few weeks and also away from Indian media.I reached at 12 midnightand had to wait till 4 am for my connecting flight. Suddenly I saw all television screen showing pictures of a girl. Then came information about where she had born and where she had studied. They even had interviews withher neighbour. I thought some girl had died and that girl might have beenVJ or something like that. But no !! they were talking about some SaniaMirza and she was still alive. She play tennis. ...Okay cool but why the news channels were telling us where she was born or stuff like that. Well.. I dont know... Someone told she will win grand slams. How do you know ? How good does she play ? Does she play good. No...she is just 18... People alway mentioned the age of Parthiv Patel for each catch he dropped and for each stumping he missed.
So I reached home and I couldnt understand why so much media coverage.Later I found out that was because she had qualified for Australian openor had won couple of rounds in Australian open or any such trivia which I didnt bother to know more details. I asked my friend ( who is a big fanof Sania ) - Had she reached semis of any Grand Slam.. No... Quarters...No.. Okay then. Remember the media coverage of Bobby Anju George...and howshe will win Gold in olympics.
Still for some unknown reasons, sports news consisted of Sania Mirza news and what Tendulkar eat in the breakfast. How Sania did a cat walk. Then came some Sania Mirza ads. I asked someone what has Sania done in tennis. He said she is young and has the potential to win Grand Slams.. Wow....futuristic.
"Watch Mirza in French open" he said. "Mirza out in 1st round" said the papers "but she has ankle problem and Tendulkar elbow" he said.
Do you know what is the similarity between Anna Kournikova and Sania Mirza. Both of them think that they are pretty. Beauty lies in beholders eyes.I would claim this is only half true but I wont argue with someone who would insist on the reply to be fully true because truth here has been relative. Here there is no much point arguing.
Do you know what is the difference between Anna Kournikova and Sania Mirza ?
Anna can play tennis .
May be tomorrow I am proved wrong. May be tomorrow Parthiv Patel can bat and keep like Gilchrist. And Anju George can jump 7 meters and may be pigs would fly just like aeroplanes !!
Sorry I just forgot about Newtons first law of motion and how it is related to profit booking...May be next time
